Join Us

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Habitat El Salvador.

Our volunteers are of different beliefs, talents, and professions. However, there is one thing that all Hábitat El Salvador volunteers have in common: They are the heart and hands of our mission.

Through construction, volunteers help Hábitat El Salvador impact the lives of thousands of families each year.

Yes. All our volunteers must be at least 15 years old, without exception. Some construction jobs are reserved for people over the age of 18 (work at height, use of power tools, deep excavation, etc.). Parents of teens must sign a special participation permit.
Of course not! A previous experience does not harm anyone, but it is not necessary. All construction sites have qualified personnel who provide information and all the instructions to carry out the tasks necessary for the day.
The construction tasks are about moving blocks, shoveling earth, moving earth in wheelbarrows, moving water in buckets, gluing blocks on the walls and what we like to do the most: Spark!
All tools and security equipment will be provided by Hábitat El Salvador. If you prefer, you can bring your own gloves and protective glasses.
We provide water at the construction site. We suggest bringing your own bottle of water, to fill it as many times as you want, while reducing plastic waste. We do not provide lunch during Saturday construction. However, we do offer a small snack. Also, you can bring your own food, to consume it in our break time.
Of course! You can write an email to volunteers@habitat.sv for more information.
