Kits that saves lives

If we have learned something in this coronavirus pandemic is that washing your hands save lives. We must communicate the importance of hygiene to prevent multiply illness and even death, especially context of poverty.

There is still 40% of the global population, approximately 3 billion people, that don’t have handwashing facilities with soap and water in their homes. Besides, the most vulnerable population is the one that has more difficulties to access the necessary articles of hygiene. Putting in their hands something as basic as soap will assure they´re protection against many illnesses. 

Day to day hygiene is very important, but when we are talking about emergency contexts, hygiene can be the difference between life and death. The consequences caused by COVID-19 have affected to the world population, and of course all Salvadorans, but unevenly. The WHO advises hand washing, social distancing and quarantining at home as fundamental measures to break the chain of contagion.

In this situation, Habitat for Humanity El Salvador launches the campaign called “Let’s build together”, an online fundraising campaign that has a goal of $25,000 of which will make it possible to support 1,000 Salvadoran families with a hygiene kit. 

Our hygiene kits to fight COVID-19 contain:

• Toothpaste
• Cepillos dentales.
• Toilet paper
• Bath soap
• Shampoo
• Bleach
• Hand sanitizer
• Masks

This hygiene kit has a cost of US$25.00

Each donation makes the difference, make the difference, donate. Help contain the spread of coronavirus to vulnerable families in our country.
