Hábitat El Salvador entrega 206 kits de respuesta humanitaria

Thursday July 16th, 2020. Habitat El Salvador delivered hygiene kits to 206 families of the country, as part of the humanitarian responses to the Covid-19 and Tropical Amanda Storm emergencies. 

“In the country, we are facing two risking situations: Covid-19 and the Tropical Amanda Storm repercussions. To face these emergencies, the families need to have the minimum conditions of security and hygiene in their homes, from the use of a mask, to hand sanitizer, can be decisive to avoid contagions, together with the guidelines of social distancing and cleanliness. This donation of 206 family hygiene kits are thanks to partners, allies and donors that joined our fundraising campaign “Let’s build together”, said Ing. 206 family hygiene kits were distributed in 3 communities in the country. 100 kits for families in Nahuaterique, Morazán. 56 for families from Sacacoyo, La Libertad and 50 kits for families from San Francisco Chamoco, San Vicente. This first delivery of Hygiene Kits represents an investment of 5,000 USD; and it was carried out in coordination with local leaders.  

“Our sincere thanks to Habitat El Salvador and its donors for the gift we receive today for our communities. As leaders, we strive to bring this type of support, to help our families control this disease, with the use of a mask and hand washing. These kits will be important for our community”, confirmed Mr. Pedro Amaya Hernández, General Coordinator of the Lenca Indigenous Community of Nahuaterique.
